We have finally implemented an old idea to provide better support for our customers. The “problem” is that many users are reluctant to read the dry user manual, finding it easier to watch a video instead. Therefore, we have created a YouTube channel to visually demonstrate the capabilities of the JCOM1939 Monitor software.
The first video introduces the JCOM1939 Monitor Pro software and demonstrates the basic steps of receiving and transmitting PGNs. We are currently working on an introduction to the SAE J1939 starter kit, demonstrating the simulation of a diesel engine and the request for the VIN (Vehicle Identification number).
If there is any topic that we haven’t covered here and you would like to explore it visually, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
In other news, if you are interested in NMEA 2000, a marine application protocol based on SAE J1939, you might be interested in our post NMEA 2000 Engine Parameters Simulation with JCOM1939 Monitor Software. The common basis between the two protocols (theoretically) allows SAE J1939 components to be used in an NMEA 2000 network. In the same sense, it is possible to use our JCOM1939 Monitor Program for Windows to monitor, simulate, and record NMEA 2000 engine parameters.
Last, but not least, we are very close to release version 4.00.002 of the JCOM1939 Monitor Pro software. Version 4.00.001 took care of a small bug, but, due to customer feedback, we found that we needed further modifications.
To install the new version, please log in to our download section.
We are working on further, new ideas, and when any of them become available, we will send you another newsletter.
Thanks for reading. See you soon!
