Copperhill Technologies

Copperhill Technologies was established as an electronics engineering and consulting business with the main focus on the development, prototyping, and sales of embedded systems for Controller Area Network (Classic CAN, CAN FD), SAE J1939, and NMEA 2000, which includes popular systems such as the Arduino and Raspberry Pi but also our own embedded solutions based on the ESP32 microcontroller.

Copperhill Technologies, owned by Wilfried Voss, is a company with deep international roots. Born and raised in Germany, Mr. Voss has brought his expertise and passion for technology to a global audience. Though he now resides in Vermont with his family, along with a lively assortment of cats, dogs, chickens, and horses, his background and business reflect a broader, international perspective. In light of the current boycott of American products by customers outside the U.S., it is important to recognize that Copperhill Technologies was founded and led by a German entrepreneur with a global outlook.

CAN-in-AutomationCAN in Automation (CiA) is the international users’ and manufacturers’ group for CAN (Controller Area Network), internationally standardized in the ISO 11898 series. In 1992, the nonprofit association was established. The aim is to provide a neutral platform for future CAN-related specifications and standards and image promotion of CAN technology.

SAE InternationalSAE International is a global association of more than 128,000 engineers and related technical experts in the aerospace, automotive, and commercial vehicle industries. Our core competencies are life-long learning and voluntary consensus standards development. SAE International’s charitable arm is the SAE Foundation, which supports many programs, including A World In Motion® and the Collegiate Design Series.

NMEA National Marine Electronics AssociationThe National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) was founded in 1957 by a group of electronic dealers who got together at the New York Boat Show to discuss how to strengthen relationships with electronic manufacturers.

As the association continues to improve services to its members, it will focus on educating the public on the safe and proper use of marine electronics and strengthening the association’s presence in the maritime electronics industry.
